Personal protective equipment against falls protects against fatal risks if all technical and organizational protection options have been exhausted. The selection of suitable PPE against falls and the correct use of the equipment are therefore extremely important.
The aim of all regulations on fall protection is that, if possible, a collective protective measure is used. This also protects people with no prior knowledge of handling special equipment. A typical example of such collective protection is side protection, for example in the form of a guardrail. In many areas of application, however, the use of side protection is not necessary, for example if a roof area is rarely walked on.
Often, side protection is structurally not possible. Personal protective equipment against falls from a height (PPE) is used here. Usually it is a combination of a safety harness to be worn on the body and a lanyard and an anchor point. As the name suggests, the lanyard forms a connection between the full body harness and an anchor device.
The PPE and the corresponding anchor devices may only be used by appropriately trained employees.

Regular inspection according to DGUV
Yes. According to DGUV 201-056, the test by people with well-founded specialist knowledge is required at least once a year.
It is a visual and functional test.
Basically possible if the expert is available and the entrepreneur has made the appointment as expert.
The inspection must be recorded in writing. The test report must be presented to the authorities on request.
